Promise I'll explain more later, but the last few years I've been cooked and cooking. I'm not yet sure if the meal was worth it, but I do know that I've been happy with my work. I present you the many art projects I've completed since my last post, starting with this one.

Printed with great trust by riso-animation-comic-artbooks super duo Zine Hug in Seattle, WA, Entrega (Submission) is a series of very personal and autobiographical color pencil drawings that started with the image above, done during one night of a hypomanic episode. I drew more as I moved through the aftermath, making sense of my past and present through isolation, pilgrimage, rekindled devotion, guarded vulnerability... to surrender to the truth of oneself.
I did not shy away from bright colors - banal vistas reflecting my overloaded senses, a dreamlike stupor amid automatic daily tasks, familiar spots, with an intense attention to detail, relying on muscle memory as your mind retreats. I floated around for many months, like a balloon untethered, routine (work, chores) my rock.
We are now undeniably in a new era of greed and violence, the ire of dominance, white patriarch backlash, the result of colonialism laid bare. We have a duty to document our dissent. I can feel my art also entering a new era - passion, going with the flow, barbed, made flesh.
