To sum up how this week went, when the time came 'round for the weekly phone call with my best friend I had to be reminded by her that I had, the week prior, preemptively nixed that week's call as I'd knew it'd be too hot for me to make useful or polite conversation. In my mind, however, I'd already skipped the previous week due to heat and didn't want to have to skip twice in a row. I legitimately had to look at my planner to confirm that last week it had NOT been nasty hot and we'd had the call as normal. Absolutely mind-fucked.

I look forward, at some point in life, to be able to live where the whims of the weather don't so easily penetrate the walls that I live in. A decently insulated apartment, once in my life, would be splendid. Anyway!

Despite it all, here's what's been cooking (lol).

  • For October I'm re-sharing some of my non-flash spooky-adjacent short stories. This week's was the The Fourth Step.
  • One of my goals is to make one more pair of pants this month, that should honestly set me up nicely and I'll not need to worry about pants for a while. Pattern bought and, more excitingly, pattern sent to a printer so I don't have to piece together dozens of letter-sized sheets. I'll follow up on that later, as it's just a cool service.
  • Blogpost for the week was a bookpost for September.
  • I did the sensible thing this year and more properly planned out what I'll offer for this year's Yuletide, scanning over the tagset. REALLY excited, as per usual.
  • Speaking of fanfic, I've got an eye on some more done this month, trying to make "unfinished book" and "single yuletide item" not the only things I've written this year. Oh and I guess all that I did for Flash Fiction February. Hm, and I'm not counting newsletters and blogposts. Anyway, trying to pick a couple fanfic ideas off the list of mine to get done this month. Next year I want to do this with short stories also, lol we'll see.
  • I made filter holders for my partner's new little photo lights, they're made of cardboard and work a treat and will be great substitutes until we can get the rather expensive official ones.

If you've subscribed at all, you're getting The Consoling Divide chapters three weeks ahead of everyone else and I thank you deeply as you do pay one of my utilities.

If you've not subscribed, you are still reading this and that is so wildly appreciated. I really just, you know, want to share the things I've made, somehow.

Thank you always for the support, all of you.
