I've been making my partner cakes for their birthday (though not every year) for some two decades at this point. The first one, pictured above, was my second cake ever made and it was an ice cream cake because I like to make challenges for myself. This year we just went and got froyo.
I'm so terrible at restful weeks. Felt like I was forgetting something all week, though I think I did rest okay enough. Not much then, to share for week done:
- I did some craft, but not much as I'm trying to rest my hand, which has an annoying strain I'm trying not to aggravate. As Chase dryly said "oh, good, at least it's not your dominant hand," as it is. It's no big, it's just! Annoying.
- The latest bit of The Consoling Divide is up! Subscribers get three weeks ahead, lucky dogs. I even remembered to give it them in a timely manner today.
- The weekly blogpost was the June bookpost wherein we learn that mostly I just carved through all available books of a series.
And that's it! July proper (starting tomorrow) puts me on two goals: getting back in the daily writing habit after continually fucking with my creative schedule, and seeing if I can cobble together a process video from some rather old bits of footage (a couple years sitting on my harddrive and I'd like it off and on the backups rather than on the main).
