I'd been putting off fixing something because I decided I needed that foam air dry clay for it and I kept forgetting to pick it up. Then! I remembered I still had some air dry clay from making that Nowhere King cosplay years ago (five?!) so to-do back on the list! But, although the foam clay wasn't quite dried out it was mostly dried out, which means it wasn't the correct solution to the problem. Which was, in the end: hot glue.

It's difficult, maybe, to even describe what I was fixing. I am in a constant war of trying to make my computer-desk area ergonomic and the latest attempt has been bolting a mousing platform to the arm of my chair, so I actually SIT in the dang chair instead of draping myself across surfaces to properly reach things. Anyway, I needed to make it a little less wiggly but in a non-destructive way and hooray: hot glue. I didn't even succumb to that thing that happens when the hot glue gun is heat up, which is start wondering what else could be hot glued.

Things that are possibly more interesting for you that were done this week:

  • Selected and edited the Flash Fiction February piece I'm submitting to Storytelling Collective's collection for the year.
  • Selected the ten FFF pieces that I'll be compiling into my collection for the year.
  • Also thumbnailed(ish, enough) the illustrations that will accompany those pieces. They're always nominal illustrations but I feel like the zine is better for it.
  • Blog this week was a bookpost for February. You know, if you're on Dreamwidth, my blog is mirrored there.
  • That newsletter I finished just under the wire is out and I quite like this one.
  • Quite a lot of stuff that seems like nothing but is big when you struggle to get things done, like: remembering Bandcamp Friday, cutting my partner's hair, bleaching my hair, not only making appointments but follow-up appointments. I hope when you do these kinds of things you're remembering to feel proud of them.
  • Also continuing the unsexy and unsharable work for an upcoming project.

I've "allowed" myself a week off writing, really. I want to get back to this longer project, it itches me, but I have learned over the years to allow breathing space (while also watching to make sure it does not become listlessness). And it is important to acknowledge that daily finished flash fiction is a difficult thing!

Thank you as always for your support. I joke about shouting into the welcoming void of the internet, but today I got an email from someone who'd stumbled across an old blog post in a search and sent me something neat about it. It's nice to know when you're providing delight.
