This was one of those weeks where I felt like I got NOTHING done but actually I'm a liar a little. What's funny is I was really feeling the push, the stress of not hitting my various goals and turned the page of my goal planner (which is one of two active planners I use, lol) and saw I'd left the "meeting month goals" section for next week blank, because past me knew I'd do this to myself. Flash Fiction February is always a certain kind of difficult, because you're trying to hit defined writing goals every day. Even time boxing it to less than an hour, that's more than I can get even when I'm writing-writing every day and I don't have a hard goal of writing every day (though I do try to put words down for at least ten minutes if I can).
Anyway, here is done for the week:
There was, I realise now as I'm totting things up, only one thing I didn't cross off my to-dos this week, which is getting more headway on the March newsletter. Not bad, self.
Today we took advantage of a museum free day to meet a friend at the American Museum of Ceramic Art which had a couple of really interesting exhibitions. I was utterly delighted by Yoon Hwang's work in the Compulsion group show of artists in residence. That link has a link to a drive folder of photos of the pieces, big recommend to click through. The AMOCA building I think used to be a bank? The space that used to be the vault is really neatly used, currently by Reniel Del Rosario’s The Store of Sturtevant’s The Store of Claes Oldenburg, I am forever a soft touch for sculptural facsimiles of objects and this little space was full of some delicious ones.
A good end to a week that felt like a mess but wasn't, really. Thank you as always for your support, I'm off to see if I can catch up from being two days behind FFF.
