I have no cool excuse for why I skipped doing a post yesterday! I was just having a very nice and lazy day and then whoops I have 2x as much evening writing with Flash Fiction February ongoing (I post the first sentences over on Bluesky and Tumblr). Which, btw, proud I am going to keep trying to do both. It's only four weeks, it'll be good for me (I say now, only two days in).

This year I'm time-limiting my flash fiction writing, partly because it's not the only writing thing I'm doing right now. But also because I really do try to keep these like sketchbook exercises. Timed gestures! The years of doing this really have helped me get better at just getting something, anything out and I want to continue to hone that.

Speaking of writing, a new newsletter is out today, mostly it's about time but I also mention historic clowns and Fallout so. The post this week over on the blog was a link dump, but I think some very fun things in there.

Otherwise I have:

  • Finished the quilt! Pics after it has been washed. It will not be that impressive, but it will be cozy and great.
  • Darned a sock, which remains something I hate doing and am bad at so please clap.
  • Been working on the current-secret-thing that won't be only for locked posts for long. You get a peek of it in this week's public post. Make of it what you will!
  • Finished reading a couple of books, one of which was Legendary Children, which I do recommend as a kind of delightful balance between deep dive and overview of drag history. I made a Letterboxed list of the various movies mentioned, which range from doc to early talkies. It's been fun going through what I haven't already seen.

Also?? My poor allergy-becursed nose has somehow literally cracked from getting chapped, this is a hell.

Anyway, thank you as always for your support.
