Image description: A photo of a smaller cactus with many arms sprawled over a bush-size space. Its arms are dense with fine needles, which are backlit golden by circle of the sun, which is focused by assorted trees so that is bursts in rays across the mostly-silhouetted image. End ID.

Did you know that allergies can just grind on, as long as the thing you're allergic to is still around? I had forgotten, now that we live in a place where I'm mostly heavy-allergy free most of the year (something I didn't realise was possible most of my life). I've cross-referenced a bunch of different places with allergen counts and there is some... tree out there making my life hell. Hopefully it'll be done sowing its oats soon and I can breathe without the interference of its pollen.

Most of this week that wasn't spent in a Sisyphean cycle of blowing my nose has been sitting and quilting the dang quilt, which is not exciting or interesting to look at, though I tried in the latest blogpost about making it. We've been listening to The Light Eaters (a re-read for me) and if I am doing something with my hands, half-watching Chase play a video game, I can mostly follow audio-only things.

I also crossed 30k in this long project I'm writing, which is wild. With Flash Fiction February coming up I'm curious how it's gonna go but I guess I'll see how it shakes out! That might be a lot, writing this long project, doing flash fiction Feb, and working on the thing I'm talking about in the subscriber-locked posts (but will be sharing soon enough). Lol well! At least February is a short month.

Short and sweet and that's all I got in me today. Thank you as always for your support!
