Ah the start of the year. I do love this nothingburger of a week, the scraps of time post-New Year when it's not quite a proper New Year (into the workweek) yet. Many of my coworkers took the second off, but me? I got some very nice spreadsheet type cleanup done. This weird, chopped up week gives me time to do My Lists (yay!) and have a week of No Lists (yikes!). My wildly stacked methods of tracking and task-keeping seemed to serve me well last year, so: onward.

Because of the whole "no lists" thing of the last week it was a lot of mop up of to dos, like mailing holiday gifts (card reveal next week, once I know folks have got them!) and general end of year tidying. I also had to make my lists for the new year, tasks and goals and to-dos. Boring stuff (exciting for me, though).

What IS fun that I can share is that Yuletide reveals have happened, so I can share the story I wrote this year, which was for Ursula K. Le Guin's Earthsea. The prompt had a lot of possible ideas in it but what I latched onto was asking for more about Serret, the woman Ged meets first as a young girl in Gont and then later in Osskil. I wrote more about my process and what Earthsea is to me at my Yuletide commentary/reveal over on Dreamwidth.

I did, ah, use this chance to once more write a fic from a seagul POV. I am predictable.

As perhaps freeing and necessary as my week of no lists was, I am looking forward to returning to My Structure (tm), there are some cool things cooking up I am looking forward to sharing this year.

Thank you as always for your support!
