Image description: A photo of a dinosaur sculpture that has been worn by time to reveal the layers of plaster covering a metal base. The teeth and spines of the ankylosaurus are creatively proportioned, and the dramatic angle of the photo lets you look into the mouth of the dinosaur to better see the peg-like teeth. End ID.

I had a "successful" week off--by which I mean I legitimately rested and also accomplished the household things I wanted to accomplish. I fixed the couch! Well, not perfectly fixed, but it doesn't sink in any more and I've been meaning to fix it for like three years (replacing springs with rope, basically). A true fix will be something for the future, when I can take it more fully apart and probably re-upholster it. Someday!

A highlight and a lowlight of the week:

  • We went to the Jurupa Mountains Discovery Center which has some fun dinosaur sculpture and one of those gravel pits kids (or enthusiastic adults) can dig in to find neat rocks that have been seeded in. It was a surprise and a very fun one.
  • A short story of mine that had been in the queue of a market for long enough to get me hopeful finally got its rejection. Alas! However, I totally get it, as it's a pretty particular story. This was the last submission for this story so I'll be doing some illustrations for it and slapping it up on the blog soon enough. A win for all of you at least!

A lot of this week was writing on various projects and making massive progress on a crochet project. I also got a blog post up about an episode of a fairy tale adaptation that I remember only one scene of clearly.

Thank you as always for your support!
