Image description: A close-cropped photo of a makeshift paint palette, frosted clear plastic painted with a building, and the outline of a Pip-Boy mascot standing in a pile of gold. Through the plastic is visible a black and white print out of a snow-globe of Sierra Madre Casino from Fallout: New Vegas. End ID.

I've said it before but people that say "there's no weather in Los Angeles" or whatever they are very wrong. Actually there is a lot of weather and it's always doing some dumbass thing. Tuesday it was scheduled to be RATHER hot, but mid-morning it rained? Well, it sprinkled, and it was nice and cool and interesting and then the day cranked up to 103f, which turned that opening cool moisture into a sauna. The various weather apps weren't having it. "26% humidity :)" they'd report, while I saw steam rising from the ground. Nonsense. Anyway, now we're on a downswing, who knows what the next week will bring in the SVG, some bullshit probably that will make the plants flower all the more brilliantly.

Despite the heat it was a fruitful week, partly thanks to the bank holiday on Monday. I finished newsletter zine #6 and now have the first year of newsletters collected into six zines up on Itch.io, hooray! I also started on zine #7, this continues to be a nice ongoing exercise in laying out text and whatnot. I'm never going to make exciting text blocks but I will get the process into my muscle memory.

Got another blogpost posted and yeah it's a tab cleanout but I think I find cool links worth sharing, tbh. I also have all the non-newsletter meat stuff done for the October newsletter--the book recs, the photos, the links. It seems small but sometimes those take one million years. I even have some starting notes for the proper main part of it! Good job team.

I also got a load of writing stuff done. Y'know, the stuff that isn't writing but is plotting and planning. I've made myself a hell of a task about it for Reasons(tm), but it's not even stuff worth sharing to subscribers rn. Chase hasn't seen half of it yet. This is always a delicious stage, tbh, where it's just play and fitting puzzle pieces together. Tentatively stoked on it.

In the midst of it, at like 1am I also wrote the start of a FNV fic, but at least all I needed to do was get it out and on an Ellipsus file and it can hang out there until I'm so struck again. The hilarity of it is that doing that actually locked something in for the current story I'm working on. Lol, lmao, of course it did.

I'm writing this before doing some work on the reward craft for hitting goals this week, so I don't know yet if you'll see what it is. I will tell you this: in involves shrinky-dinks and not only did I first forget to mirror what I was doing so it would look correct in the end but I then did it at proper scale, not "little more than twice" scale that you have to do so that when the dink shrinks it is the correct size. So three times a charm there.

Thank you as always for your support!
