Another week of new planner/tracker down and I didn't reach my Big Goals, for the week, which is FINE. The main reason was we went to an amusement park on a whim yesterday evening. I got cheerfully attacked by children in the bumper cars, as it should be. The secondary reason is that it was like 100f+ for multiple days and the weather has been weird in addition to the temps. Don't let anybody tell you that the LA area "doesn't have weather" because we always have weather and yesterday it literally went from like dry dusty 100f winds to rain and everything in between.
I accidentally ended up with a whole new story idea that I think I gotta work on before I work on the stuff that's been patiently waiting. Lol oops! Not in a spot to talk about it yet but I can say that if you know the trope name for when an RPG video game opens from unconsciousness/give you only an on-rails cinematic then you get knocked out sort of thing, I'd love to know it. You know, the ol' "Hey, you. You're finally awake." of Skyrim or how Obsidian loves to have you design your player character in the guise of a medical once-over.
Anyway, things done this week (please also count going to the dentist, thanks):
- Got all but the meat of the newsletter done for September, yes cutting it close, whatever.
- Started and finished a whole other newsletter collection zine, maze and puzzle and layout and all!
- Cleaned up and sorted a bunch of little spots, something made easier by the cleaning last week. Yeah, cumulative work!
- Gathered a whole bunch of prelim stuff and notes for this dang story that snuck up on me.
- Got a blog post out, which was not at all as quick and brief as I'd hoped, lol.
