ID: A digital illustration in the style of a medieval book illustration. Garfield is depicted as a blemmye, a creature with its face in its stomach and no head. Red script in the corner reads "December 2024." End ID.
Another short one, what can I say, it was a winter of small loops. Sir Jude's cover of 'Hurdy Gurdy Man' has one of the longest (like 30 seconds) dead air following it I've ever encountered in streaming, but I think here it works as an intermission.
Related media to some of the songs:
- Dead On A Sunday has released an album of their covers and frankly, they all bang.
- I have never played the DuckTales game, let alone its remastered version, which is where this version by Jake Kaufman is from. It seems like everybody likes it and have liked it for a while (the article in that last link has an embedded video of the original version).
- I was delighted to encounter a new-to-me cover of 'In The Pines' ('Where Did You Sleep Last Night' by Sleigh Bells), which I was familiar with as 'Hey Girl' by Norma Tanega and which more folks are probably familiar with from the one by Nirvana. This wayback-archived article talks about five different covers of it. I'm forever in love with traditional songs that keep getting reinvented. You can find some of the early recorded versions of it on Archive, like this 1937 recording or a 1926 version by Dock Walsh.
