Well, it appears to be the end of November and I suddenly realised I hadn't made a single post here (Patreon or Comradery, wherever your'e reading this).
I started the month off with a week off work, which was nice. I always make a small to-do list when I've a lot of PTO, so I can feel like I "got something done" for the bit of my brain that always needs to be doing. This time I had things like "foot bath" and "finish FNV playthrough" on it, so know I'm not trying to jam a season's worth of chores into a few vacation days.
My to-do list did also include setting up a new computer (done, hooray, it's quite nice), cleaning my closet (a couple carrier bags to donate and shoes I've no use for), and mending my coat. I sewed the coat in November 2016 and have worn it nearly daily since and bits were in various states of wear. I re-did the facing of the zipper, fixed where the inner pocket was coming unstitched, and also reinforced the hilarious wear on the pockets.
I figure another layer of the same fabric will hold another eight years.
I've still the cuffs to re-do, but they'll be a bit trickier (and more hand sewing) since the current ones are tattered to all hell so I'll need to reinforce them.
Despite best intentions I didn't really get any writing done over the month, which does mean I've got to get to work on my Yuletide. I have, however, begun holiday gifts (which I can't share) and I'm quite delighted by the family gift theme this year, if I can finish pulling it off.
I'm also, fyi, clearing out my twitter, thank you Tweet Delete. I played with the idea of porting the whole shebang over to where I am on Bluesky now, which I did when I left LJ and moved the whole archive to my WP. But that kind of posting just isn't my energy any more and although there are things I loved that I'd written over there, I didn't feel like bringing them over was the right move. I'd been on Twitter since 2007 (and hadn't used it in ages), that's so long ago!! I've got the downloaded archive though, which is nice.
Time is always a nebulous concept for me but this month really seemed to zip past. Wild to think there's just one more month left in this year. Thank you, as always, for your support.
Things that I never properly tally in my accounting of a month are writing my newsletter (Buttondown archive) or that The Audacity Gambit continues updating weekly (info & archive), so if you're following those you've been seeing me in your inbox more than just updates here.
