Woah hey!!!
Sorry for the lack of updates, I've been working on a whole lot of things! And quite a few of those things I can not actually talk about! But there is a little something I can share, some footage from: Voidland Mystery Goodnight.
Voidland Mystery Goodnight is a short experimental game I am working on in my free time. Experimental in the sense that I am experimenting with using Godot. I haven't used Godot before, and I've wanted to take a step into it for a while and see how I like it. I think I like it! I was a bit worried at first if learning GDscript would be a hassle for the simple thing I wanted to make, but the built in code editor felt like a very gentle guiding hand easing me my way into what I wanted to craft. I found it pretty easy to figure my way around the editor coming from something like Unity, too. Many panels have very similar functionality to Unity so I was able to feel my way around without having to consult too many guides. I won't be switching to Godot full time anytime soon, but for making simple stuff I might return to it.
As for Voidland Mystery Goodnight, I'm calling it a "vignette crawler", a sort of interactive comic. There will be dozens of animated panels in a grid, and you can press the arrow keys to move from panel to panel. Arrows only appear if there is a panel in that direction. It is about a girl in college who starts having prophetic dreams. These dreams start out simple enough, like knowing what lunches will be served, or seeing accidents before they happen. Then the dreams start getting more intense. She sees angels. She sees demons. She doesn't know what she sees.
I'm hoping to get this done sometime late this month! We will see! I don't think this will be a very long game. Thank you for taking a look!
