SpoonStack exists to provide radical alternatives to the realities of how present-day digital technology is created, distributed, and used. We follow an approach called Disability-Driven Development, which places the dreams, desires, and joys of disabled people at the forefront of every aspect of both how we create as well as what we create.
Our goal is not only to provide new technologies like radically accessible software, but to share what we learn about ways of organizing groups of people; creating meaningful, supportive, and lasting community; realizing bold and ambitious projects together; and, ultimately, genuinely providing real and available alternatives for existing social, cultural, political, and economic systems that favor oppression.
