We're in the interstitial, liminal time, which normally is what I like the best, the little uncertainties of the crepuscule, when you can just about not tell the black thread from the white, but words fail on thresholds like this, unable to determine which way to go, or where, and one's left with a gormless grin and a shrug, hey, would you lookit that. —Editing continues on the overall volume: first, a read-through pass in Scrivener, tightening, clipping (but with the lightest of hands), re-feliciting, and there's a continuity error that needs fixing. —Then the pass as the text is flowed into the Designer frame for the bookblock, and the kerning and adjusting and typesetting, and any changes to the text made here will need to be made in two places, Designer, and the Scrivener file. And then finally dumping the Scrivener file to HTML that can be fitted into the Sigil file for the ebooks, and here, if there's a change to be made, it needs to be made three times.
Then: measure and adjust the cover; upload the files and print test copies; tweak and adjust; there's two months and 22 days left to accomplish all this. And all the while the marketing efforts, such as they can be, emails lofting press releases into an echoing void. (It's really more of a choked and overstuffed funnel, but the lack of response does echo emptily on this end.)
But! The next season assembles itself in the background all the while. Updates in 31.
