ICYMI, my solarpunk column went live on If This Goes On Don't Panic about Solarpunk Urbanism as Appropriate Technology. I had to cut a lot of what I was planning to say since I had 20-30 minutes worth of script for a ten minute slot. I'll probably circle back to a lot of that later in a future post or episode.
Also, the fifth guest post in the Solarpunk Spirituality Series is now live! If you want to start at the beginning, go ahead and follow the links in the sidebar from the Intro Post.
Again, thank you all for your support. It's great to have both moral and financial support for the work we're doing on Solarpunk Station!
Hey folks,
Long time no update. My first podcast just dropped as a columnist for "If This Goes On Don't Panic," and you can check that out in the (hopefully) embedded audio player. I'll be doing a book review over there this year. We're still working out the exact details, but I'll probably do 3-4 of those a year.
The guest blog posts I promised in the last update are finally coming as part of a series about Solarpunk, Lunarpunk, and Spirituality. You can see the intro post here, and another post should be going up later this week.
Finally, assuming no further difficulties with my computer setup, I should be getting a new video up this month. Yay!
Hi folks,
Things have been a bit sparse lately, I know. I just started a new job at the end of last month and one of my cats needed surgery (she's recovering well so far; *fingers crossed*), so it's been a bit hectic. Due to said surgery, I wasn't able to attend the Multiverse Con in Atlanta, so apologies if you happened to be in the area and wanted to see me IRL.
I have a post going up on the blog tomorrow, and am hoping to start getting back to some videos that are partially completed soon. I don't think I'll get anything up this month, but November is looking promising.
Guest posts are coming soon to the blog as well, and I'll tell you more about that once we get the first couple scheduled.
Thanks for all your support! :)
August is Tidalpunk Month on Solarpunk Station, and I just posted a new article about Offshore Wind energy.
Also, the issue with old links not working should be resolved. Let me know if that isn't the case!
Looks like we're back up and running with https://solarpunkstation.com after some schennanigans regarding switching hosts. It looks like some of the direct links to posts may not work anymore as the file structure has changed slightly, but the articles should all still be there. Please let me know if there are any issues with anything, and thanks again for your support, everyone!
If you'll be in Atlanta this fall, I'll be a guest at the Multiverse convention on October 14-16. I've gone in the past as an attendee, and it's pretty awesome.
Here's the blog post the video was based on: https://solarpunkstation.wordpress.com/2020/02/17/cities-as-ecosystems/
And if you want to get a copy of "The Nature Fix" via our affiliate link: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9780393355574?aff=Solarpunkstation
I'm working on possibly switching hosts, so the forwarding might be a little funny right now from the main URL. For now, if you go to solarpunkstation.wordpress.com, everything should still be there.
I just uploaded a new video, and there's also a new post on the blog about my decision to get a new computer for the first time in nearly a decade: Bad News First...
Thanks for all your support so I can keep making new things!
A new video is up! Thanks for your support so I can keep doing these!
I have a new article coming out Thursday, so be on the lookout for that!
I am also starting to edit my next video, and will be reaching out to those of you at the Supporter level to see how you'd like your name to be in the credits.
Thanks again for supporting the channel! :)
Edit: An earlier version of this had a "sneak-peak" URL for the article, but it turns out Wordpress doesn't work that way. Sorry for any confusion.
I just heard that an anthology I'm in, Almanac for the Anthropocene: A Compendium of Solarpunk Futures is now up for preorder. It comes out in September and you can get your copy here at WVU Press: https://wvupressonline.com/node/905
Hi everyone!
I'm excited to be here on Comradery! I've been blogging about solarpunk since 2018, and recently started doing videos as well. If you want to know a little about how I see solarpunk, you may want to read "What is Solarpunk , Anyway?"
If you're new to Solarpunk Station, you may want to check out some of my most popular posts:
1) Re-purposing Malls as Solarpunk Co-housing
3) Tidalpunk: Come Home to the Sea
4) Solarpunk Phones (link goes to part 1 of a 4 part series)
Thanks for your support and encouragement over the years, everybody!
