If you haven't heard the news, Bandcamp is being sold yet again to yet another company. We have decided to go to itch.io, an indie store known initially for games but rly anything software related goes on it now. The benefits of this are
- Free streams, forever! None of Bandcamp's nudging at all.
- In that realm, free downloads (hopefully) forever! Bandcamp always has a 5000 download limit per month.
- Open revenue sharing model, so we decide what we give to itch.io. Bandcamp dictates fees of 15%, we've decided to go with 10% to itch.io
- itch.io is wholly and independently owned and operated
Huge shoutout to torcado for developing the Scritch player, a Bandcamp-like HTML player that allows free streaming inside the browser. Def more high quality than Bandcamp.
So yeah, rereleasing the Reykjavik demo onto it.
