Multipurpose Leftist Event Space on Tacoma's Hilltop

Interior of the Solidarity Spot meeting area, featuring seating for roughly a dozen people

The Hilltop Solidarity Center is a new multi-purpose leftist community space in the Hilltop neighborhood of Tacoma. We're here to provide a meeting and gathering space for socialist, environmentalist, and anti-racist events and causes. The Center also features a small kitchen (ask us if you want to use this) and a backyard with a small playground.

The three founding organizers spent the summer of 2023 cleaning out this space and setting it up. It's now ready to use! We want to offer this gathering and event space to left-wing activists in Tacoma and to the whole community of Hilltop.

For example, we've already had a local EMT host a general-audience Stop the Bleed first-aid course, and next weekend we'll be hosting Tacoma's first Anarchist Bookfair of the 2020's.

So far, the rent and running costs for this space, which total around $1500 a month, have been paid by a single founding organizer. As of October, this funding source is no longer available. We need to share costs with those using the space for events and raise donations to keep the Center open. We've created this Comradery so groups using the space, supportive community members, and comrades from anywhere can pitch in!

Contact us at [email protected] if you want to host a meeting or event here.
