what do you know about tarot cards?

I know all of it and I'm the premiere expert on the subject. if anyone claims to know more than me about tarot, they're just trying to sell you something.

on the real though, the tarot is a fun tool! I love reading my cards whenever I can. and I learn something new every time.

there are a lot of ways to use and interpret tarot cards. in my hands they function like a compass that's also a mirror that's also a flashlight. my readings aim to highlight key aspects of the self, illuminate shadows, ask questions that need asking. the setup is to get one's bearings and orient oneself.

the punchline, the one question implicit in every reading, is what does one want life to feel like? and what is one is willing to do in the eternal Now to bring that future to the present?

those are the sorts of insights my cards and I offer. now here are the lovely friends I work with to bring those insights forth!

the Rider Waite is the classic. she's the OG. everybody's seen it and usually this is the first deck people get. it was my first in fact! I've had this deck since early 2017. it's pretty straightforward in its messaging. occasionally a little scattered though since some of the cards are missing. I mostly use this one as a supplement to other decks.

the Quantum Tarot was a gift from my cousin in October of 2017. each card represents a different astronomical concept, phenomenon, or constellation. this deck can come off as pretty serious and humorless. I know the message is gonna be a little heavy when I feel called to read with it. while the Quantum doesn't pull any punches, it's surprisingly down to earth and offers a lot of expansiveness and nuance in a reading. almost like it's a cartomantic representation of the universe itself. hmmmm...

now, I hate to play favorites with my decks, but goodness gracious do I love the Tarot of Many Doors! we've been together since fall of '22 and hit it off instantly. this deck comes with interesting alterations. it's degendered and de-royal-ized. three of the four minor arcana suits have been changed. the artwork is deceptively simple and hella cute. the Many Doors lead to many worlds and open up new possibilities. it's basically my bestie so I've probably come to this deck the most, despite how short a time we've been together.

Zeke's Arcana is my newest addition, joining me just last May. these are by far the most luxurious cards I have. the box, the feel of the cards, and the imagery itself is all just dripping with decadence. these cards need to be used in moderation, lest I overindulge and spoil my appetite. being called to read with these cards is it's own reward, but also provides some valuable insights. kinda like taking a bubble bath at a resort on a tropical island with plenty of fresh fruit and a big window with the perfect view.

I have one oracle deck in addition to my tarot decks. oracle cards have the same basic function as tarot cards, without the major and minor arcana structure tarot decks employ. I've had the Inner Child oracle deck just as long as the Rider Waite. it's a helpful set of cards that I use mostly for shadow work or birthday readings. it comes in handy in a variety of situations though. each card comes with a message and affirmation printed on the back, aimed to help nourish particular parts of the soul.

that's all for now! I hope you took notes because this will be on the quiz which is worth 273% of your grade ๐Ÿ˜Œ good luck and good posture to you!
